Battlestate Games’ competitive PvP spinoff of Escape from Tarkov. Tactical arena combat with realistic ballistics.
Welcome to the Cosmo strategy hub for Escape from Tarkov: Arena. Battlestate Games launched this competitive PvP spinoff to extend Escape from Tarkov’s combat into a smaller, more accessible format: same realistic ballistics, weapon handling, and gear systems but without the extraction risk. Currently Patch 0.5.0 (April 20, 2026) with BattlePass Season 2 "Casus Belli" active. The engine upgrade in 0.5.0 brought audio improvements and DLSS integration. Five game modes spanning team deathmatch (BlastGang, TeamFight), elimination (Last Hero), gun-game (ShootOut), and the upcoming Overrun. Everything below is vanilla, mechanics-only knowledge.
Figure 1. Section 02 of this page is "The Five Game Modes". These are the five entries it lists.
01 · The Combat Loop

No loot lossUnlike Escape from Tarkov’s extraction format, EFT Arena has no inventory loss. Each match is self-contained; gear resets between matches.
Match formats varyMultiple game modes with different rules and player counts. BlastGang (5v5 ranked), TeamFight (5v5 quickplay), Last Hero (battle royale-style), ShootOut (gun-game), Overrun (upcoming).
Progression via BattlePass and PMC skillsEarn BattlePass progression for cosmetics and unlocks. PMC skill levels (similar to EFT) gate certain content; transferable knowledge from EFT helps.

Stack Tactical Map progressPick one Tactical Map; commit to it. The cumulative BattlePass XP and rewards are massive compared to spreading across multiple maps.
Watch competitive streamsTwitch hosts EFT Arena streamers. Two hours per week of high-rank gameplay teaches positioning and gear choices.
Save Battle Points for milestonesBattlePass progression rewards milestone targets. Don’t spend Battle Points on cosmetics until milestone targets are clear.
