EA / DICE’s 2017 class-based Star Wars shooter. Updates ended April 2020; still played daily.
Welcome to the Cosmo strategy hub for Star Wars Battlefront II. EA and DICE’s 2017 release was rocky at launch due to controversial loot box monetization, but extensive post-launch updates (which removed the pay-to-win progression system) and free content drops transformed it into a beloved Star Wars shooter. Updates ended in April 2020 with The Battle on Scarif. Despite no ongoing content, the game remains active — free-to-play promotions through Epic Games Store brought massive player influxes; the core gameplay holds up. Three eras (Original Trilogy, Prequels, Sequels), a roster of iconic heroes and villains, multiple modes from infantry to starfighter to hero-versus-hero. Everything below is vanilla, mechanics-only knowledge.

11 · Pro Tips
Compound habits across the long Battlefront II arc.
Master one class firstPick one of the four troop classes; master it across 50+ matches. Mechanical depth on one class beats shallow knowledge of all.
Save Battle Points for HeroesLower-cost spawns (reinforcements, vehicles) are tempting. Save for hero spawns at key moments; one hero turnaround changes match outcomes.
Position with coverBattlefront II rewards cover use. Crouch behind walls; peek to shoot; return to cover. Open-ground combat dies fast.
Use Officer or Specialist if your team needsA team without Officer (no healing) or Specialist (no long-range) loses extended team fights. Adapt class choice to team comp.
Hero matchups matterYoda outranges Vader in close. Maul outdamages Obi-Wan in 1v1s. Learn hero matchups; pick fights you can win.
Use Starfighter Assault for varietyBurnt out on infantry? Starfighter Assault offers completely different gameplay. The mode has its own meta and dedicated community.
Take advantage of free periodsWhen Battlefront II goes free on Epic Games Store, player counts surge. Newcomers welcome; experienced players have plenty of matches to fill.
